Amman: Jordan brought the curtain down on a successful AFC U-16 Women's Championship 2013 Group A qualifying campaign with an impressive 4-0 win over fellow qualifiers Bahrain on Sunday.
The qualifying competition sees the fourteen lowest-ranked teams divided into four geographically-based groups with the teams in each centralised group playing in a round-robin league format. The winner and runner-up of each group will qualify for next year's finals meaning that a victory each over Palestine was enough to see Jordan and Bahrain advance from three-team Group A with the only issue to settle being who would progress as group winners and runners-up.
Sunday's showdown at Petra Stadium remained goalless until five minutes from the interval when Jeeda Lanaber opened the scoring with her third of the campaign before Azzaeh Al Hayeek's strike five minutes into the second half doubled Jordan's advantage.
Manar Isleem took over the goal scoring responsibilities towards the end of the match, scoring in the 79th minute and again with two minutes of the match remaining to take her individual tally to five in two matches following her hat-trick in the 9-0 victory over Palestine in their opening Group A fixture.
