Sydney: Head coach Trevor Morgan has urged his players to keep performing at the club level as Australia set their sights on the AFC U20 Asian Cup™ Uzbekistan 2023. 

Wednesday's draw in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia saw Australia drawn in Group B alongside Qatar, Vietnam and Islamic Republic of Iran for the March 1-18, 2023 showpiece.

Kuala Lumpur: The build-up to the Asian Football Confederation (AFC)’s 2023 age-group tournaments gained momentum today with the launch of the brand identities of the upcoming editions of the AFC U-17 Asian Cup 2023™ and the AFC U-20 Asian Cup 2023™, both of which will return after a hiatus of four years.

The competitions, which have shifted from their erstwhile identities of U-16 and U-19 Championships to ensure Asian teams are competitive in the FIFA U-17 and FIFA U-20 World Cups respectively, depict new designs which, while vibrant and youthful in isolation, are tied to a greater narrative of a youth footballer on their journey towards the senior national teams.

Abu Dhabi: Saleh Al Shehri was on target again as Saudi Arabia continued their preparations for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 with a 1-1 draw against Albania in an international friendly on Wednesday.

Al Shehri, who scored the winner in the 1-0 victory over North Macedonia on Saturday, struck from the penalty spot as Saudi Arabia head coach Herve Renard continued to experiment with his squad.

Hisor: Uzbekistan dethroned Islamic Republic of Iran to win their second CAFA U-15 Women’s Championship title on Tuesday. 

Played in a single round-robin format, the three-team tournament saw Uzbekistan finish top of the standings on superior goal difference, with Iran second and Tajikistan third.

Beirut: Lebanon successfully defended their WAFF U18 Girls Championship title after defeating Syria 5-1 in the final at the Fouad Chehab Stadium on Tuesday.

Lebanon maintained their unbeaten run in the competition, having won all three matches in the group stage before cruising past Syria in the final to claim their second consecutive title.
