Amman: AFC U-19 Championship 2012 contenders Qatar got their second defeat in the group stage of the Arab U-20 Championship 2012 when they lost 5-0 to Algeria at the Amman International Stadium, Jordan, on Sunday.
The Qataris had opened their campaign in the regional competition on July 5 with a 4-1 loss to Mauritania at King Abdullah Stadium, Amman, and are now at the bottom of Group B below Mauritania, Libya and leaders Algeria.
Seven AFC member associations and five member nations of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) are competing in the tournament on July 4-18 hosted by Jordan.
Qatar are in Group D of the continental U-19 championship with Australia, Saudi Arabia and Syria, the latter two teams also contenders in the Arab U-20 Championship. The Qataris will kick-off their campaign against Australia on November 4.
