The Olyroos were in irrepressible form in the encounter as they closed in on a sixth straight appearance in the Finals.

Kuala Lumpur: The race to reach the AFC U23 Asian Cup™ Qatar 2024 saw high octane action with the hopefuls kicking off their qualifying campaigns. 

The 11 group winners, together with the four best second-placed teams overall, will form the final cast of 16 alongside automatically-qualified hosts Qatar at the sixth edition of the competition, set to be played between April 15 to May 3, 2024.

Zarqa City: Jordan flexed their muscles in a 9-0 win over Brunei Darussalam in Group A of the AFC U23 Asian Cup™ Qatar 2024 Qualifiers on Wednesday.

Oman also got off to a winning start, defeating Syria 2-0 in the earlier match.

Qualifiers - Group B: Myanmar 1-1 Kyrgyz Republic; Korea Republic 0-2 Qatar

Changwon: The opening fixture in Group B of the AFC U23 Asian Cup™ 2024 Qualifiers saw Myanmar and Kyrgyz Republic playing out a 1-1 draw.

In the group's other game, Qatar earned an impressive 2-0 win over Korea Republic but the result will not be counted towards the qualification process as it is categorised as a friendly match.

Viet Tri City: Yemen and Vietnam secured convincing victories in their AFC U23 Asian Cup™ Qatar 2024 Qualifiers Group C openers at the Viet Tri Stadium on Wednesday.

Yemen defeated Singapore 3-0 while Vietnam scored six unanswered goals past Guam as both lay early claims to the sole automatic spot in the Finals from the group.

Qualifiers - Group F: Iraq 13-0 Macau; Kuwait 4-0 Timor-Leste

Kuwait City: Iraq were simply unstoppable as they defeated Macau 13-0 in Group F of the AFC U23 Asian Cup™ Qatar 2024 Qualifiers at the Kuwait Sports Club Stadium on Wednesday.

Hosts Kuwait also got off to a winning start, defeating Timor-Leste 4-0 to keep pace with their West Asian neighbours.
