Bangkok: Anon Amornlertsak has promised that Thailand will bounce back from their AFC U23 Championship 2020 defeat to Australia on Saturday.
Thailand, who kicked off their Group A campaign with a 5-0 win over Bahrain, started strongly against Australia with Amornlertsak giving them the lead in the 23rd minute.
Thailand’s performance, however, dropped in the second half as two goals from Nicholas D’Agostino saw Australia claim a 2-1 win and top spot in Group A heading into the final round of matches.

Bangkok: Head coach Graham Arnold has praised the character of his Australia team after they sensationally came from behind to beat Thailand 2-1 and move to within touching distance of the AFC U23 Championship Thailand 2020 quarter-finals.
Perth Glory striker Nicholas D'Agostino was on hand to score either side of half-time as Australia followed up their opening day draw against Iraq with a priceless three-point haul that has moved them to the top of the Group A standings.

Bangkok: Australia edged to within touching distance of the AFC U23 Championship Thailand 2020 quarter-finals as two goals from Nicholas D'Agostino helped them secure a hard-fought 2-1 win over Thailand on Saturday.
Nicholas D'Agostino scored either side of the break to secure his side’s victory, one that, coupled with Bahrain’s draw with Iraq earlier in the day, leaves Australia leading the way in Group A and needing only a draw against the Bahrainis on Matchday Three to guarantee their place in the last eight.
The result, meanwhile, saw Thailand drop to second with Akira Nishino's charges now requiring a point from Tuesday's encounter with Iraq to advance.

Bangkok: Thailand made the ideal start to their AFC U23 Championship Thailand 2020 campaign on Wednesday as the host nation beat Bahrain 5-0 at the Rajamangala Stadium in Bangkok to go top of Group A.
Two goals from Suphanat Mueanta provided the platform for success on a night when both the Buriram United ace and Thailand shone brightly from start to finish against a Bahrain outfit which, in truth, created few genuine opportunities.
The result leaves Akira Nishino’s charges two points clear at the summit following Iraq’s 1-1 draw with Australia earlier in the day and adds genuine momentum to their bid to reach the competition’s knockout phase for the first time in three attempts.

Bangkok: Iraq head coach Abdulghani Shahad blamed poor finishing for his side’s inability to pick up all three points from their meeting with Bahrain on Saturday as a host of missed chances saw them draw 2-2 with their fellow West Asians at the AFC U23 Championship Thailand 2020.
Mohamed Qasim rescued his side for the second game in a row as he came off the bench to score an added time equaliser to ensure the Iraqis go into their final game against Thailand on Tuesday knowing a win over the hosts will take them through to the quarter-finals.

Bangkok: Mohamed Qasim struck for the second game in a row as he came off the bench once again to earn Iraq a point as Abdulghani Shahad’s side twice came back from going behind to earn a 2-2 draw with Bahrain in Group A of the AFC U23 Championship Thailand 2020 on Saturday.
Qasim had netted against Australia in Iraq’s opening game to secure a draw and he did the same again – but in more dramatic fashion – when he denied Bahrain all three points with an injury time header at Thammasat Stadium.
Mohamed Marhoon looked to have secured Bahrain the win when he put Bahrain in front for the second time in the game three minutes from time with a diving header as the game exploded into life in the dying minutes.

Buriram: Captain Nguyen Quang Hai wants Vietnam to step up after settling for a 0-0 draw with the United Arab Emirates in their AFC U23 Championship Thailand 2020 Group D opener on Friday.
Park Hang-seo’s men spurned several chances against UAE with Quang Hai coming close on a number of occasions while Nguyen Tien Linh was denied by goalkeeper Mohammed Al Shamsi at the very end.
The result left Vietnam third in the standings with Jordan, who the Southeast Asians must now beat on Monday to boost their chances of advancing to the knockout stage, leading the group after opening with a 2-1 win over DPR Korea.
