West Bank: Three-time continental champions Chinese Taipei made an emphatic start on their mission to reach the 2014 AFC Women’s Asian Cup finals with a 6-0 victory over qualifying Group D hosts Palestine on Tuesday.
Chinese Taipei went one-up with just five minutes of the match at the Faisal Al Huseni Stadium gone when midfielder Lin Ya-han netted the first of her hat-trick.
The game remained locked at 1-0 with half-time approaching but a flurry of goals just before the interval saw the East Asians take control of the contest.
Yu Hsiu-chin made it 2-0 in the 40th minute and after Lai Li-chin added a third two minutes later Lin Kai-ling struck number four in first-half stoppage time.
Lin Ya-han took on Chinese Taipei’s goal-scoring responsibilities single-handedly in the second half, bagging her second and Chinese Taipei’s fifth ten minutes after the restart before completing the hat-trick and sealing the 6-0 triumph with ten minutes of the Group D curtain raiser remaining.
