Bento: Korea Republic's Asian Qualifiers victory was for Yoo Sang-chul
Goyang: In what has been an emotional week for football fans across Korea Republic after the passing of Yoo Sang-chul, Paulo Bento has dedicated the Taeguk Warriors' 5-0 win over Sri Lanka on Wednesday to the 2002 FIFA World Cup hero.
After a long battle with cancer Yoo – who was an integral part of the the Korea Republic side that reached the FIFA World Cup semi-finals on home soil, and scored in their opening-day win over Poland – died on Monday.
As the Taeguk Warriors continued their quest to reach the first FIFA World Cup in Asia since those heady days in 2002 by easing past Sri Lanka in the Asian Qualifiers, Portuguese coach Bento was keen to recognise a true legend of Korea football.

Korea Republic will play their final Group H tie on June 13 against the team in second place, Lebanon, who were dramatically defeated by Turkmenistan earlier in the day with the Taeguk Warriors only needing a draw to seal their place in the final round of the Asian Qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and confirming their ticket to the AFC Asian Cup China 2023 Finals.

Goyang City: A late winner from Altymyrat Annadurdyyev saw Turkmenistan sign off their Group H campaign with a rollercoaster 3-2 victory against Lebanon in the Asian Qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and AFC Asian Cup China 2023 on Wednesday.
Having taken the lead on 59 minutes through Zafar Babajanov, Turkmenistan were stunned by a pair of stellar solo goals from Rabih Ataya and Soony Saad that had seemingly turned the tie on its head.
But for a second time in the match a pair of goals flipped the script. First Guychmyrat Annagulyyev and then Annadurdyyev in injury time found the target to seal all three points for the Central Asians in dramatic fashion.
