New Jersey: Australia's Sam Kerr has written her name into the American National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) record books once again, scoring a superb hat-trick to become the first player to reach 50 goals in the competition.
The current AFC Women's Player of the Year started the match against former club Sky Blue FC with 48 NWSL goals to her name and finished it with 51, after scoring all three goals in a 3-1 win that takes her Chicago Red Stars team to second on the table.
The star forward, who was assisted by Japan's Yuki Nagasato for her second and third efforts, has now reached a half-century of goals in both the NWSL and Australia's W-League.
