Dubai: Uzbekistan international Ulugbek Bakaev has signed for UAE premier league side Dubai Sport Club from Kazakhstan outfit FC Zhetysu.
The 32-year-old, who netted both goals in Uzbekistan's 2-0 AFC Asian Cup 2011 quarter-final win over Jordan before being red-carded in the last-four meeting with Australia, will replace Bahrain international Fawzi Aish.
"Bakaev will be a great addition for the club as he has vast international experience," said Dubai SC's head coach Ion Marin, who took over the managerial reigns at the promoted side at the beginning of October having led Al Ettifaq to a third-place finish in Saudi Arabia and with it a place in the 2012 AFC Champions League.
Bakaev is part of Uzbekistan's 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifying side and has featured in two of the White Wolves' three third round qualification Group C matches.
Uzbekistan are currently joint-top of the table, behind Japan on goal difference, and next in Brazil 2014 qualifying action on November 11 when they host DPR Korea.
