Jeju: Goalkeeper Mya Phu Ngon has revealed that Myanmar's mistakes caused their 1-0 defeat to Vietnam in the AFC Women’s Olympic Qualifiers final round Group A tie at the Jeju World Cup Stadium on Thursday.

Myanmar came into the match having suffered a 7-0 defeat to Korea Republic in their opener but held their own for the first 45 minutes against Vietnam before conceding a goal just after the hour mark which sent Tin Myint Aung's side crashing out of the tournament.

Mai's half-time pep talk propels Vietnam to victory

Jeju: Mai Duc Chung’s half-time encouragement paved the way for Vietnam's 1-0 win over Myanmar in Group A of the AFC Women’s Olympic Qualifiers at the Jeju World Cup Stadium on Thursday.

After a goalless first half, Ngan Thi Van Su’s 62nd minute header proved the difference as Vietnam confirmed their place in next month’s Play-offs for a berth in Tokyo 2020.

They face Korea Republic, who defeated Myanmar 7-0 in their opener, on Sunday to determine the group winners.
