Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation’s success in nurturing world-class referees was once again reiterated with the appointment of nine Asian officials at the upcoming FIFA Futsal World Cup Uzbekistan 2024.

Taking place from September 14 to October 6, the 2024 edition of the FIFA Futsal World Cup will see the global showpiece taking place in Asia for the fourth time.

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) reached another significant milestone in its ambition to increase the representation of Asian officials on the global stage with the appointment of China PR’s Dong Fangyu as referee for Saturday’s enticing clash between France and Canada at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Colombia 2024.

This historic appointment will see Dong become the first ever graduate from the AFC Referee Academy to take charge of a match at a FIFA competition, further underlining the Confederation’s commitment towards maximising the potential of its Member Associations and Regional Associations.

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) reiterated its commitment to provide tailormade support to its match officials by conducting the AFC Women's Elite Referees & Assistant Referees Seminar from August 12 to 15, 2024 in Malaysia’s capital city, Kuala Lumpur.

Attended by 78 women match officials from across Asia, the four-day course provided the participants with the opportunity to further enhance their skills ahead of the 2024/25 season through a number of theoretical and practical exercises.

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC)’s quest towards maintaining excellence in developing the Continent’s match officials reached yet another milestone with the conclusion of the AFC Elite Referees Seminar 2024 on Friday.

Taking place in a physical setting for the first time since 2018, two seminars were held simultaneously in Bangkok, Thailand for participants from the East, ASEAN and South regions, and for officials hailing from the West and Central zones, the programme was hosted in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Commencing at the AFC House in February 2020, an introductory module spanning five days was conducted for the enrolled candidates of Batch 2019, setting the stage for the officials to undergo a transformative journey aimed at shaping them into referees fit to officiate at the world’s biggest stages.

AFC Referee Academy conducts final advance onsite module for Batch 2019

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC)’s match officials moved closer to achieving their goal of officiating at the biggest stages in world football when the AFC Referee Academy’s Batch 2019 concluded their ninth and final Advanced Onsite Module on Friday.

The Onsite Module, held from February 26 to March 1, saw 38 men and women referees undergo hands-on training and attend technical sessions covering a range of topics to evaluate their mental abilities, physical fitness, and other qualities befitting those of world-class match officials.

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC)'s drive to ensure its match officials continue to maintain their world-class standards reached a significant milestone when it conducted the AFC Women Referees & Assistant Referees Selection 2024 course in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. 

The course, which took place from February 19 to 22, saw 18 women referees and Assistant Referees from 14 AFC Member Associations (MAs) being evaluated on their theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and physical abilities.

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC)’s determination to provide tailor-made support for its match officials to reach the highest level marked a significant milestone when the AFC Referees Recruitment 2024 courses were conducted for the Confederation’s men’s football and futsal referees in Kuala Lumpur, from February 19 to 21. 

The three-day football and futsal refereeing courses marked the final edition in its current form as it paves the way for an exclusive pathway to the AFC Elite Panel through the AFC Referee Academy starting in 2025.
