ASEAN Wrap: Buriram, Svay Rieng canter to glory

Kuala Lumpur: Buriram United retained their Thai League title with four matches to spare following a 2-0 win over Ayutthaya United on Sunday.

Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng FC did the same in Cambodia, winning the title for the third season in a row. Newcastle Jets were held by Adelaide United but maintained their three-point lead in Australia while champions Johor Darul Ta'zim dropped points for the first time this season in the Malaysia Super League.

Pathum Thani: Head coach Akira Ijiri was left with mixed feelings after Japan's dominant win over Vietnam in the quarter-finals of the AFC U20 Women's Asian Cup Thailand 2026™ on Saturday. 

The six-time champions and 2024 finalists overpowered the Southeast Asian side 4-0 to charge into the last four, but Ijiri came away conflicted.

Pathum Thani: Vietnam have much to look forward to despite making their exit from the AFC U20 Women's Asian Cup Thailand 2026™ on Saturday.

The Southeast Asian side lost 4-0 in the quarter-finals to six-time champions Japan after a valiant display, and head coach Okiyama Masahiko said his squad had achieved their objective.

Pathum Thani: Japan cruised into the last four stage of the AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup Thailand 2026™ by overpowering Vietnam 4-0 in their quarter-final tie at the Pathum Thani Stadium on Saturday.

The six-time champions, who also booked their place at the FIFA U20 Women's World Cup Poland 2026, set up a semi-final meeting with either China PR or Uzbekistan.
