Kolkata: 4.25 SC booked their berth in the knockout stage of the AFC Women’s Champions League 2026/27™ after picking up a 6-0 win against Ho Chi Minh City Women’s FC in their Group B tie on Wednesday.

Kim Kwang Min’s side have six points from two matches and are assured of a top two finish in the group regardless of what happens in the remaining games.

Yangon: Defending champions Naegohyang Women’s FC closed in on the quarter-finals after cruising 6-1 past BAM Khatoon FC in their AFC Women’s Champions League 2026/27 Group A tie on Wednesday.

Kim Song Ok and Ri Kum Hyang set the early tone going into the break as the DPR Korea side powered through the second half with further goals to seal the convincing victory.

Pohang: Kim Gwang-kon scored a minute from time as FC Pohang Steelers picked up their first point of the AFC Champions League Elite 2026/27™ league phase on Wednesday with a dramatic 3-3 draw with Gamba Osaka.

The substitute pounced from close range at the end of a pulsating second half to frustrate the J1 League outfit, who had looked set to take all three points when Kohshiro Sumi struck with 11 minutes remaining.

Sumi scored after the visitors were twice pegged back by Pohang with Ryotaro Meshino’s 34th minute opener cancelled out by Wanderson in the 55th minute while Eli Adams’ 69th minute free-kick was followed by Jorge Teixeira’s finish eight minutes later.

The result moves Gamba onto eight points from their four matches while Pohang avoided defeat in the competition for the first time.

The win kept Seoul in second spot, three points ahead of Australia’s Melbourne Victory with two more rounds of matches to be played. Indonesia’s Persib Bandung, who have confirmed their Round of 16 spot, lead with 12 points.

Melbourne: Goals from Luka Menalo and Balsa Sekulic in the final five minutes saw Persib Bandung battle back to hand Melbourne Victory a 2-1 defeat on Wednesday that secures a spot in the knockout rounds of the AFC Champions League Two 2026/27™ for the Indonesians.

Menalo levelled in the 85th minute and Sekulic hit a dramatic final minute winner after Brendan Hamill had given the A-League outfit a 71st minute lead and the result moves Igor Tolic’s side onto a maximum 12 points at the top of Group E to guarantee their progress.

The win was Persib’s fourth in a row in the group phase and came to the delight of a large and vociferous contingent of travelling fans, who made their presence known at the Melbourne Rectangular Stadium.
