AFC President underlines strong partnership with FA Thailand

Bangkok: Asian Football Confederation (AFC) President Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa today met with The Football Association of Thailand (FA Thailand) President Mrs. Nualphan Lamsam and expressed his gratitude to the Thai football family for their warm hospitality ahead of the 34th AFC Congress, which will be held in the Thai capital on Thursday.

At the outset, the AFC President congratulated Mrs. Nualphan Lamsam on becoming the first female President of an AFC MA after being successfully elected earlier this year and acknowledged the meticulous attention to detail displayed by FA Thailand, which will also become the first ASEAN nation to host the 74th FIFA Congress on Friday.

Focus shifts towards the 34th AFC Congress 2024

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Member Associations (MAs) will elect two new members to the AFC Executive Committee for the remainder of the 2023 to 2027 term when it convenes at the 34th AFC Congress on Thursday, May 16, in Bangkok, Thailand. 

Additionally, in a first for an AFC Congress, the AFC President, Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa will present the AFC Lifetime Achievement and Distinguished Service Awards, with the recipients to be announced after the 4th AFC Executive Committee meeting, scheduled for May 15, 2024.

Manila: Asian Football Confederation (AFC) President Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa has come away impressed with the new football initiatives and programmes of the Philippine Football Federation (PFF), following his visit to the capital city of Manila.

During his time in the Philippines, which concluded on Sunday, Shaikh Salman met with newly elected PFF President John Gutierrez and PFF Executive Committee members and was presented with an overview of the Federation’s upcoming plans for the sport.

Shaikh Salman reinforces role of Korea FA in raising Asian game

Seoul: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) President Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa concluded his visit to Seoul, Korea Republic, today where he held several high-level meetings with the nation’s top officials, including the Korea Republic Prime Minister Han Duck Soo as well as Korea Football Association (KFA) President Chung Mong Gyu.

The AFC President underlined the strong sense of partnership between the AFC and the KFA and applauded the pivotal role of the Association in elevating the standards of Asian football over the years, exemplified by the ever-expanding list of triumphs achieved by the KFA and its national teams and clubs across all levels.
