AFC receives prestigious Integrity honour

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC)’s resolve towards preserving and protecting the integrity of the beautiful game, as outlined in its Vision and Mission, marked a significant milestone on Tuesday after the AFC Champions League Elite™ 2024/25 was conferred the SIGA ASIA: Sport Event of the Year accolade at the inaugural Sport Integrity Global Alliance (SIGA) Sports Integrity Awards in Riyadh, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The maiden season of the revamped top-tier men’s club competition was recognised for meeting a stringent set of criteria, which include demonstrating commitment to key integrity themes such as fair play, inclusivity, safety and security enforcement, athlete welfare, and safeguarding.

AFC hosts Ministry of Youth and Sports Malaysia in knowledge-sharing visit

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) welcomed the Ministry of Youth and Sports Malaysia (KBS) today to the AFC House for a benchmarking exercise that underlined both parties’ commitment to safeguarding the integrity of sport.

A 10-strong KBS delegation, led by Mr. Ahmad Faedzal Bin Md Ramli, Undersecretary, International Relations Division, was hosted by the Integrity Unit of the AFC Legal Department for a fruitful visit that provided a deeper understanding of the Confederation’s integrity measures.

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) reaffirmed its determination to safeguard the integrity of the beautiful game when it conducted the Principles of Clean Sport seminar on Thursday in collaboration with Sportradar’s Integrity Services.

Attended by more than 120 participants, the webinar was organised in support of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA)’s annual digital campaign, Play True Day, aimed at raising awareness of the importance of clean sport.

Landmark AFC Integrity Education Programme 2025 reinforces commitment to safeguard football in Asia

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has further underlined its resolve to strengthen the capacity of its Member Associations (MAs) and Regional Associations (RAs) with the launch of the AFC Integrity Education Programme 2025 – a knowledge sharing initiative designed to equip Integrity Officers with the necessary knowledge and tools to combat match-fixing at the national and international levels.

Set to commence on March 10, 2025, the programme, which has been established in collaboration with Sportradar, is aimed at strengthening the capabilities of Integrity Officers by providing them with the expertise required to protect the beautiful game across the Continent.

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) conducted the AFC Member Associations Anti-Doping Programme webinar on January 20, further underlining its determination to protect the integrity of the beautiful game and establish the highest standards of professionalism.

Attended by representatives from 40 Member Associations (MAs), the webinar primarily aimed to familiarise participants with the newly introduced AFC Anti-Doping Activities and Monitoring System, designed to streamline and standardise anti-doping practices across Asia.

AFC signs MoU with Asian International Arbitration Centre

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and Asian International Arbitration Centre’s (“AIAC”) shared commitment to serve the best interests of the legal and sports community in Malaysia and Asia, was further reinforced today with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two organisations in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The MoU will pave the way for both organisations to establish and foster greater cooperation as well as expand the opportunities for knowledge exchange on sports law and alternative dispute resolution matters.
