Kuala Lumpur: A packed week across ASEAN football delivered goals, drama and big statements at both ends of the table, with several title contenders showing their quality when it mattered most.

In Thailand, Buriram United produced the performance of the round with an eight-goal blitz to remain comfortably clear at the summit, while Singapore’s Lion City Sailors FC maintained their flawless start to keep full control of the early pace in the Premier League.

Pathum Thani: Shah Shahiran has urged Tampines Rovers FC to keep their eyes on the ball after the Singaporean side completed their AFC Champions League Two 2025/26™ Group H campaign with a swagger on Thursday.

The 2-0 win against Thailand’s BG Pathum United meant Tampines topped the group with 16 points, meeting the target of remaining undefeated after having failed to progress last season.

Goals from Koya Kazama and Trent Buhagiar sealed Thursday’s win, with Shah saying Tampines’ resurgence was built on lessons learned from last season.

Pathum Thani: Tampines Rovers FC capped an impressive AFC Champions League Two 2025/26™ Group H campaign with a 2-0 win against BG Pathum United on Thursday.

The win took Noh Rahman’s side to 16 points and kept their unbeaten run going, finishing three points clear of Korea Republic’s FC Pohang Steelers in second spot.

Bandung: Head coach Bojan Hodak was all smiles after Persib Bandung secured their place in the AFC Champions League Two 2025/26™ knockout stage with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Bangkok United at the Gelora Bandung Lautan Api Stadium on Wednesday.

The victory - sealed by Ramon Tanque’s strike - saw Persib finish on 13 points to claim top spot in Group G with Bangkok United - three points adrift - also advancing.

Group G: Selangor FC (MAS) 0-1 Lion City Sailors FC (SGP)

Petaling Jaya: Lion City Sailors claimed a 1-0 win over Malaysia Super League outfit Selangor at MBPJ Stadium on Wednesday but the victory in Group G was not enough to prevent last season’s runners-up from crashing out of the AFC Champions League Two 2025/26™.

Tsye Ndenge’s 50th minute strike earned Lion City the points they needed to keep their hopes of a place in the knockout rounds alive but Persib Bandung’s 1-0 win over Bangkok United saw the Singaporeans eliminated due to an inferior head-to-head record.
 
As a result, Lion City finish third in Group G behind table-toppers Persib and second-placed Bangkok United on 10 points with Selangor already eliminated with a solitary point from their six matches.

Hanoi: Vietnam were at their devastating best as they defeated Malaysia 4-0 in their Qualifiers Group C tie on Sunday to book their place at the AFC U17 Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2026™.

Macau ended their campaign on a positive note with a 2-0 win over Northern Mariana Islands while Singapore and Hong Kong, China shared a 1-1 stalemate.

Kuala Lumpur: Australia and Japan produced impressive performances in victories against New Zealand and Canada as they continued their preparations for the AFC Women’s Asian Cup Australia 2026™.

Australia defeated New Zealand 5-0 on Friday while Japan cruised 3-0 past Canada on Saturday.

Korea Republic were held by Wales while Bangladesh, who will be making their AFC Women’s Asian Cup debut, suffered defeat against Malaysia.
