Final draw: All you need to know

Kuala Lumpur: The Final Draw for the FIFA World Cup 2026™ will be held on Friday and it promises to be a spectacular affair.

The expanded 48-team tournament - up from the 32-nation field that competed at the FIFA World Cup 2022 - will be played across the United States, Mexico and Canada from June 11 to July 19 next year.

Kuala Lumpur: Japan earned their second win over Canada in four days, with Mina Tanaka’s first half strike giving them a 1-0 win at Nagasaki Stadium on Tuesday.

Australia, meanwhile, also defeated New Zealand for a second time, winning 2-0.

Kuala Lumpur: The cast for the AFC U17 Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2026™ was decided following the conclusion of the Qualifiers on Sunday.

The seven group winners join Asia's representatives from the FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2025 - DPR Korea, Indonesia, Japan, Korea Republic, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan, United Arab Emirates and Uzbekistan - at the Finals.

The Finals will be contested on May 7-24, 2026.

Andijan: Despite their dominance, FK Arkadag had to come from behind to secure a 1-1 draw with PFC Andijon in their AFC Champions League Two™ 2025/26 Group B match at the Bobur Arena on Wednesday.

It was Uzbekistan side Andijon’s fifth consecutive draw and the third straight for Turkmenistan’s Arkadag.

The result leaves Andijon with five points and Arkadag with four, and both sides can still qualify for the knockout stage if they win their final fixtures.

Qarshi: Head coach Dragan Skocic was pleased to see Tractor FC edge closer to the next stage after their gritty 1-0 defeat of PFC Nasaf in their AFC Champions League Elite™ 2025/26 tie on Monday.

The victory - the third of the campaign for the Islamic Republic of Iran side - saw them move up to 11 points in the West Zone with Skocic hailing the resilience shown by unbeaten Tractor under difficult conditions at Markaziy Stadium.

Qarshi: Tractor FC continued their unbeaten start to the AFC Champions League Elite™ 2025/26 campaign on Monday as Dragan Skocic’s side handed hosts FC Nasaf a 1-0 defeat in Qarshi to edge closer to the next stage.

Regi Lushkja’s strike from distance in the 17th minute was enough to earn the side from the Islamic Republic of Iran a third win in five matches in the West Zone League Stage and move onto 11 points.

Nasaf, in contrast, remain rooted to the bottom of the standings without a point as Ruzykul Berdiev’s side suffered a fifth consecutive loss.

Wuhan: Wuhan Jiangda Women’s FC underlined their determination to defend the title with a dominant performance in Group B of the AFC Women’s Champions League™ 2025/26, finishing top and sending a warning to their challengers. 

A 4-0 win against Islamic Republic of Iran’s Bam Khatoon FC on Sunday, which was achieved despite not being at full strength, showed the China PR side will be a team to avoid when the knockout stage draw is held in January.

Wuhan Jiangda topped the standings with seven points, three ahead of PFC Nasaf of Uzbekistan and India’s East Bengal FC.
