PS: Paro FC (BHU) 2-0 Abu Muslim Farah FC (AFG)

Thimphu: Bhutan’s Paro FC advanced to the group stage of the AFC Challenge League 2026/27™ Group Stage after edging Abu Muslim Farah FC of Afghanistan 2-0 at the Changlimithang Stadium on Tuesday.

Goals by Yuta Mishima and Abdoulie Baldeh secured Paro’s third consecutive group stage appearance. Abu Muslim, defeated by the same opponents last season, again failed in their bid to become the first Afghan club to qualify for the Group Stage of an AFC competition.

Dhaka: Fortis FC of Bangladesh secured their AFC Challenge League 2026/27™ Group Stage berth after defeating Kyrgyz Republic’s Muras United 1-0 at the Bashundhara Kings Arena on Tuesday.

Fortis broke the deadlock after a goalless first half with Mohammad Ibrahim scoring off a wonderful layoff from Pa Omar Babou to seal the win.

Ulaanbaatar: Chinese Taipei’s Hang Yuan advanced to the group stage of the AFC Challenge League 2026/27™ with a 2-1 win over hosts FC Ulaanbaatar in the tournament’s preliminary rounds on Tuesday.

Naoki Kaneko scored 16 minutes from time to secure Hang Yuan’s place in the draw for the next phase as the club confirmed their appearance in the group phase of continental competition for the first time since 2019.

Ulaanbaatar: Tainan City booked their place in the group stage draw for the AFC Challenge League™ 2026/27 on Tuesday as the side from Chinese Taipei defeated Mongolia’s Central Stallions 5-3 in a penalty shoot-out following a 2-2 draw in Ulaanbaatar.

Ryota Fukuhara’s miss for Central Stallions from the penalty spot means the five-times Chinese Taipei champions will be playing in the group phase of the continental tournament for the third season in a row.

Gangneung: Gamba Osaka secured their place in the league phase of the AFC Champions League Elite 2026/27™ on Tuesday as Gaku Nawata’s extra-time strike earned the J1 League side a 1-0 win over hosts Gangwon FC from Korea Republic.

Nawata scored 13 minutes into extra-time for the reigning AFC Champions League Two™ title-holders after neither side had managed to find a way through during the regulation 90 minutes.

Osaka will join compatriots Kashima Antlers, Vissel Kobe, Kashiwa Reysol and Kyoto Sanga in the draw for the league phase, which has been expanded from 24 to 32 teams, in Kuala Lumpur on August 18.

Gangwon were eliminated despite dominating for long periods against a Gamba side that exhibited obvious signs of rustiness in a match that was played after just one week of action in the new J1 League season.
