Group A: Pakhtakor FC (UZB) 3-0 Ahal FC (TKM)

Tashkent: Pakhtakor FC of Uzbekistan earned their first win of the AFC Champions League™ 2023/24 following a 3-0 victory over Turkmenistan’s Ahal FC at Bunyodkor Stadium on Tuesday.

It was a much-needed three points for the Uzbekistan champions, moving them off the bottom of Group A and reigniting their hopes of reaching the next stage of the competition.

Group I: Ulsan Hyundai FC (KOR) 3-1 Johor Darul Ta’zim (MAS)

Ulsan: Korea Republic's Ulsan Hyundai survived Kim Tae-hwan’s first half sending off to hand Malaysia's Johor Darul Ta’zim a 3-1 defeat in Group I of the AFC Champions League™ 2023/24 in Ulsan on Tuesday and return to winning ways.

Hong Myung-bo’s side had lost on Matchday Two to Japan’s Kawasaki Frontale but moved onto six points at the halfway stage thanks to Jung Seung-hyun’s opener and a brace from Gustav Ludwigson within the opening 18 minutes.

Kim was sent off when he picked a second booking nine minutes before the end of the first half and, while Bergson pulled one back for JDT eight minutes after the interval, the reigning K-League champions took the points.

Group I: BG Pathum United (THA) 2-4 Kawasaki Frontale (JPN)

Pathum Thani: Kawasaki Frontale maintained their perfect record in the AFC Champions League™ 2023-24 on Tuesday as Toru Oniki’s side handed BG Pathum United a 4-2 defeat in Pathum Thani to open up a three-point lead at the top of Group I.

Daiya Tono put the J1 League side in front and, while Igor Sergeev ensured the hosts went in level at halftime, second half goals from Kento Tachibanada, Marcinho and Takuma Ominami gave Kawasaki a win that takes them on to nine points from three games.
 
Victor Cardoso hit a late second for BG Pathum United from the penalty spot eight minutes from time as Kawasaki remained clear of second placed Ulsan Hyundai, with Johor Darul Ta’zim in third.

Group J: Wuhan Three Towns FC (CHN) 2-1 Hanoi FC (VIE)

Wuhan: Goals from Wei Shihao and Marcao saw China PR’s Wuhan Three Towns register their first-ever continental victory in a 2-1 win over Vietnam’s Hanoi FC in Tuesday’s Group J clash in the AFC Champions League™ 2023/24.

Wuhan had only a point to show from their opening two AFC Champions League ties, but Joel Tagueu’s early sending off put Wuhan in the ascendancy and goals either side of half-time from Wei Shihao and substitute Marcao proved decisive over a Hanoi side who recorded a third successive defeat in Asia, despite having time for both a late consolation strike via Pham Tuan Hai and second red card, this time for Dao Van Nam.

Saitama: Korea Republic’s Pohang Steelers made it three wins out of three matches in Group J of the AFC Champions League™ 2023/24 by defeating holders Urawa Red Diamonds 2-0 at Saitama Stadium 2002 on Tuesday. 

Jeong Jae-hee opened the scoring for the K League 1 outfit in the 22nd minute before Goh Young-jun doubled their lead early in the second half to hand the J1 League side their first defeat in Asia this season.

Riyadh: Al Hilal SFC head coach Jorge Jesus was delighted with the quality of his squad after the two-time AFC Champions League™ winners cruised 6-0 past Mumbai City on Monday.

The resounding win - which saw Serbian Aleksander Mitrovic netting a hat-trick - propelled Al Hilal to the top of the Group D standings, ahead of Uzbekistan's Navbahor on goal difference.

Olăroiu hails Hosani after Sharjah seize top spot

Sharjah: Cosmin Olăroiu hailed goalkeeper Adel Al Hosani after Sharjah FC defeated FC Nasaf 1-0 in their AFC Champions League™ 2023/24 Group B tie on Monday.

With Sharjah leading 1-0 in stoppage time, the custodian kept out Azizbek Amonov’s spot-kick as the United Arab Emirates club moved to the top of the standings on seven points.
