Jeddah: AFC Champions League Elite™ 2024/25 chasing Al Ahli Saudi FC unveiled Ivan Toney as their latest signing on the final day of Europe’s transfer window.

The 28-year-old striker moved from Brentford FC, where he scored 36 goals for them in the English Premier League and established himself as a vital member of the England national team.

Kuala Lumpur: The finishing line is in sight for 18 of the Continent’s national teams as they prepare to resume their qualifying journey for the FIFA World Cup 2026 on Thursday, September 5, 2024.

Scheduled to run until June 2025, the AFC Asian Qualifiers™ – Road to 26 features three groups of six teams and guarantees qualification to the 23rd FIFA World Cup in Canada, Mexico and the United States for the top two finishers of each group. Two more berths are available via the AFC Asian Qualifiers™ – Road to 26 Playoff, with an additional opportunity up for grabs at an InterContinental Playoff.

Manila: Tom Saintfiet has resigned as head coach of the men’s national team, the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) has announced.

Saintfiet, who replaced former head coach Michael Weiss in February, is returning to Africa to lead the Mali national team.
