Riyadh: Luis Castro said he could not fault his players despite Al Nassr exiting the AFC Champions League™ 2023/24 following their defeat to Al Ain in the quarter-finals on Monday.

Al Nassr fought their way back into the tie despite trailing 3-0 on aggregate, with the match finally needing a penalty shootout after the quarter-final ended 4-4 over 180 minutes.
 
UAE's Al Ain, however, proved deadlier from the spot as they advanced with a 3-1 win.

Al Ain edge Al Nassr in thriller to book semis spot

Riyadh: Al Ain booked their place in the AFC Champions League™ 2023/24 semi-finals after beating Al Nassr 3-1 on penalties at Al Awwal Park on Monday, after the two teams played out a 4-4 aggregate draw over 90 minutes in Al Ain and 120 minutes in Riyadh.

Having scored the goal which gave the Emirati side a 1-0 advantage in the first leg, Soufiane Rahimi added two more goals in the first half, but Al Nassr bounced back in the second half, before a late Cristiano Ronaldo penalty sent the game into the shootout.
