R16 (1st Leg): Cong An Ha Noi FC (VIE) 4-0 Tampines Rovers FC (SGP)

Hanoi: Cong An Ha Noi will take a commanding lead into the second leg of their AFC Champions League Two 2025/26™ Round of 16 tie with Tampines Rovers next week after handing the Singaporean side a 4-0 defeat at Hang Day Stadium on Wednesday.

Vietnam international playmaker Nguyen Quang Hai scored twice in three first-half minutes to put Mano Polking’s side in control, netting in the 24th and 27th minutes before Rogerio Alves hit his side’s third with eight minutes remaining in the first half.

Nguyen Dinh Bac scored the fourth in stoppage time at the end of the game to move Cong An Ha Noi to the cusp of a place in the quarter-finals. The two teams will face off again in Singapore next week with Noh Rahman’s side facing an uphill task against the V.League 1 outfit.

Ratchaburi: Thailand’s Ratchaburi FC strolled to an easy 3-0 win over Persib Bandung in their AFC Champions League Two 2025/26™ Round of 16 first leg tie on Wednesday.

A brace by Tana and the third by substitute Gabriel Mutombo at the Ratchaburi Stadium gives Worrawoot Srimaka’s side a comfortable advantage going into the return leg next week, while the Indonesian side will have to work overtime to overcome the deficit.

Chuncheon: Hosts Gangwon FC kept their slim hopes of a place in the knockout rounds of the AFC Champions League Elite 2025/26™ alive on Wednesday with a 0-0 draw against Shanghai Port while the Chinese Super League’s prospects of a last 16 berth were extinguished.

The point earned by both teams takes Gangwon onto eight points from their seven matches so far while Shanghai Port move onto three points and, with only one match remaining, Kevin Muscat’s side have no chance of advancing.
 
The Chinese champions are rooted to the bottom of the 12-team table, five points outside the eight places that qualify for the knockout rounds in the eastern league phase.
 
Gangwon, meanwhile, will travel to Australia next week to take on Melbourne City needing a win to have any chance of qualifying for the next phase of the competition, which will be played in March.

Ulsan: Marcus Younis struck in stoppage time to give Melbourne City FC a 2-1 win over Korea Republic’s Ulsan HD FC in their AFC Champions League Elite  2025/26™ clash at the Ulsan Munsu Football Stadium on Wednesday.

Max Caputo’s first-half goal was cancelled out by Darijan Bojanic’s 80th minute strike before tournament debutant Younis sealed the match in the 93rd minute. 

The win secured Aurelio Vidmar’s side their first knockout stage appearance in the continental showpiece while former champions Ulsan’s hopes of advancing will depend on them beating China PR’s Shanghai Port FC and also the outcome of  other matches next week.

Chengdu: Mark Jackson showered praise on his Buriram United players after their 1-0 win against China PR’s Chengdu Rongcheng FC in the AFC Champions League Elite 2025/26™ on Tuesday moved the Thailand side closer to a place in the Round of 16.

In a game where Chengdu dominated possession, Buriram had to dig deep to get the win and Jackson was proud of how his charges managed the situation in front of over 40,000 fans at Phoenix Hill Sports Park Football Stadium.
