Kuala Lumpur: Following the withdrawal of Hong Kong’s Wofoo Tai Po from the AFC Cup 2020, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has confirmed today that Kitchee SC (HKG) has been awarded a direct slot into the AFC Cup Group Stage as the highest ranked club in the Play-off Stage (EAST) based on the draw mechanism established before the start of the Competition.
The Hong Kong side will join Tatung FC from Chinese Taipei and Macau’s MUST CPK in Group I with the final slot to be contested in the Play-off Stage between Ulaanbaatar City FC from Mongolia and Chinese Taipei’s Taipower FC and the Preliminary Stage (East) cancelled.
