Kuala Lumpur: The AFC Cup™ 2022 is moving towards a thrilling climax with just four teams remaining ahead of the West Zone and Inter-Zone Finals on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively. 

While lifting the title is the ultimate aim of all those still involved, there is also an intriguing battle going on for the Golden Boot, with Kuala Lumpur City FC’s Paulo Josue and Viettel FC’s Pedro Paulo leading the way on five goals.

KL City’s Lambert relishing ‘experience of a lifetime’ in AFC Cup™

Kuala Lumpur: Declan Lambert has described Kuala Lumpur City FC’s run to the final four of the AFC Cup™ 2022 as one of the best experiences of his life as the side from the Malaysian capital gear up for their Inter-Zone final against Uzbekistan’s PFC Sogdiana on Wednesday. 

It’s been quite the year for Malaysia-born Lambert, who joined KL City at the beginning of 2022 and has been a key figure in the debutants’ maiden continental campaign in which his side won the ASEAN Zone before defeating India’s ATK Mohun Bagan in the Inter-Zone semi-final. 

Soon after that result Lambert received his first call-up to the Malaysia national team, scoring in the penalty shootout victory over Thailand in the King’s Cup on his debut just a week ago.
