#AWCL Group Stage cast finalised

Kuala Lumpur: The group stage of the AFC Women's Champions League™ 2024/25 is all set for take off following the conclusion of the preliminary stage on Saturday.

Four teams booked their spots, joining eight others who had secured automatic qualification for the inaugural edition of the tournament.

Riyadh: Abu Dhabi Country Club sealed top spot in Group A of the AFC Women’s Champions League™ 2024/25 Preliminary Stage after defeating Al Nassr Club of Saudi Arabia 1-0 on Saturday.

The win places Abu Dhabi alongside Wuhan Jiangda of China PR, Korea Republic’s Incheon Red Angels and Sabah FA of Malaysia in Group A in the next round.

Finishing top with a perfect six points, Odisha’s journey will continue in Group C where they will have to contend with Japan’s Urawa Red Diamond Ladies, Ho Chi Minh City FC of Vietnam and Taichung Blue Whale Women’s Football of Chinese Taipei for a place in the knockout stage.

Group C: Sabah FA stun PFC Nasaf to book spot

Kota Kinabalu: Nurul Azurin Mazlan produced an outstanding performance to help Malaysia's Sabah FA defeat Uzbekistan’s FC Nasaf 2-1 in their AFC Women’s Champions League™ 2024/25 Preliminary Stage Group C tie at Likas Stadium on Saturday to qualify for the group stage.

The win meant Sabah finished on four points - one ahead of Nasaf - with the Malaysian side advancing to Group A where they have Wuhan Jiangda Women’s FC (CHN), Hyundai Steel Red Angels Women’s FC (KOR) and either Al Nassr Club (KSA) or Abu Dhabi Country Club (UAE) for company.

Thimphu: Islamic Republic of Iran’s Bam Khatoon FC booked their place in the group stage of the AFC Women’s Champions League™ 2024/25 after defeating Kitchee SC of Hong Kong, China 2-0 in their Preliminary Stage Group D tie at the Changlimithang National Stadium on Saturday.

Bam Khatoon finished with a perfect record, having beaten Bhutan’s Royal Thimphu College FC 2-1 on Matchday One and will join Australia’s Melbourne City, Kaya–Iloilo of the Philippines and Thailand’s College of Asian Scholars in Group B of the inaugural edition of the tournament.
