Ulsan edged by Sundowns

Orlando: Korea Republic's Ulsan HD FC suffered a 1-0 defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa in their opening FIFA Club World Cup 2025 Group F match at Inter&Co Stadium on Tuesday.

Weather warning pushed back the kick-off by over and hour before Sundowns went on to secure victory to go top of Group F with Borussia Dortmund and Fluminense having drawn 0-0 in the group's other match.

River Plate stop Urawa Reds

Seattle: River Plate overcame a spirited Urawa Red Diamonds 3-1 to make a strong start in their FIFA Club World Cup 2025 Group E opener on Tuesday.

The Argentine side overpowered their Japanese opponents at Lumen Field under the Seattle sun, in an entertaining battle.

Under 12,000 fans attended the clash at the 69,000-capacity stadium but those who were there, many travelling from Japan and Argentina, created a vibrant atmosphere at both ends of the stadium.

New Jersey: Borussia Dortmund were held to a 0-0 draw by Fluminense in their FIFA Club World Cup 2025 Group F opener on Tuesday, as Brazilian teams maintained their unbeaten record so far in the competition.

The Germans will hope to get their first win when they play Mamelodi Sundowns next, while Fluminense take on Ulsan HD of Korea Republic on Sunday.

Miami: Goals from two Argentine internationals denied Boca Juniors victory over Benfica on Monday, as the Buenos Aires side were forced to settle for a 2-2 draw in a stormy FIFA Club World Cup 2025 Group C clash.

An Angel Di Maria penalty on the stroke of half-time and an 86th-minute header from Nicolas Otamendi earned the 10-man Lisbon side a point from a fiercely contested encounter in what was a de facto home game for Boca.

The Argentine club had led 2-0 thanks to goals from Miguel Merentiel and Rodrigo Battaglia and looked set for a night of celebration after Benfica went down to 10 men in the 72nd minute.
