Jeddah: Two-time Asian champions Al Ahli Saudi FC will look to make full use of home advantage when they face Auckland FC in the African-Asian-Pacific Cup Playoff of the 2026 FIFA Intercontinental Cup on Wednesday.

Al Ahli secured their spot in the competition after defending their AFC Champions League Elite™ title with an extra-time 1-0 win against FC Machida Zelvia in April.

Kuala Lumpur: Japan international Koki Ogawa has returned home to join FC Machida Zelvia while Jordan Larsson has made the switch to Saudi Arabia’s Al Ettifaq.

UAE side Al Wasl were also active with the signing of Croatian goalkeeper Dinko Horkas, while Brisbane Roar and Sydney FC bolstered their squads ahead of the new Australian season.

Doha: Cristiano Ronaldo scored his first goal of the season as champions Al Nassr Club cruised to a 4-0 win against Al Riyadh in their Saudi Pro League 2026/27 tie.

Akram Afif also got his first of the season as defending champions Al Sadd SC kicked off their new campaign with a 3-1 defeat of Al Ahli.

Defending champions Al Ain were among four teams who won their second successive matches in the UAE Pro League while Air Force SC had to settle for a second draw in as many matches.

Hisor: Clara Luvanga netted a stunning seven goals as Al Nassr Club overwhelmed Tajikistan’s FC CSKA Dushanbe 12-0 to wrap up their AFC Women’s Champions League 2026/27™ Preliminary Stage Group E fixtures in style on Sunday. 

Hessa Al Isa added three to move the Saudi Arabia side to five points while Dushanbe finished with three defeats.

Kuala Lumpur: Mehdi Taremi and Darwin Nunez were among the biggest names on the move as clubs across Asia continued to strengthen their squads.

Islamic Republic of Iran international Taremi completed a move to UAE Pro League side Al Wasl SC, while Uruguay forward Nunez switched Saudi Arabian clubs after joining Al Diriyah on loan from Al Hilal SFC.

Hisor: Bam Khatoon FC scored in the dying seconds to earn a 1-1 stalemate with Saudi Arabia’s Al Nassr Club in their AFC Women’s Champions League 2026/27™ Preliminary Stage tie on Thursday.

Sara Didar’s strike six minutes into stoppage time cancelled out Clara Luvanga’s 84th-minute spot-kick to put the Islamic Republic of Iran outfit in the driver’s seat of Group E, with Jordan’s Etihad Club their opponents on Sunday while Al Nassr will meet Tajikistan’s FC CSKA Dushanbe.

Abu Dhabi: Al Ittihad Club head coach Jens Wissing praised his players’ commitment after the Saudi Arabian side powered past Al Jazira FSC 4-1 to secure their place in the AFC Champions League Elite 2026/27™ League Stage on Tuesday.

Steven Bergwijn struck twice in the first half and Al Ittihad never looked back as second half goals from Houssem Aouar and Marwan Al Sahafi put the game beyond Al Jazira’s reach, with Simon Banza’s late effort proving only a consolation.
