Melaka: Lion City Sailors etched their name in the history books on Thursday after becoming the first Singaporean side to qualify for the AFC Women’s Champions League™ 2025/26 Group Stage after a commanding 3-1 win over Kelana United.

Needing a victory to secure top spot in Group C, Sailors rose to the occasion with Japanese duo Ami Takeuchi and Miyu Inayama finding the back of the net before youngster Nur Ain Salleh put the game beyond Kelana United’s reach.

Qarshi: Thailand’s College of Asian Scholars are on the brink of reaching the Group Stage of the AFC Women’s Champions League™ 2025/26 after achieving back-to-back wins but head coach Neungrutai Srathongvian doesn’t want the run to stop there.

A 4-0 win against Nepal’s APF FC on Thursday kept Asian Scholars level at the top of Group B with PFC Nasaf of Uzbekistan, albeit with an inferior goal difference.

The two sides meet on Sunday.

The win sees the Uzbekistan side tied on six points with College of Asian Scholars, who they meet on Sunday.

The win sets up College of Asian Scholars nicely for a Matchday Three encounter with PFC Nasaf of Uzbekistan on Sunday, while APF will be out to end their losing streak against Saudi Arabia’s Al Nassr Club.

The Singapore club, with maximum points from two matches, will finish top of the group regardless of the outcome of the final set of games on Sunday where they will face Kyrgyz Republic’s Sdyushor SI - Asiagoal while Kelana United will be taking on Etihad Club of Jordan.
