Tokyo: Japan got their 2022 EAFF E-1 Men’s Football Championship campaign off to a flying start after defeating Hong Kong 6-0 at the Kashima Stadium on Tuesday.

In the Women’s Football Championship, Japan edged Korea Republic 2-1.

Kubo inks five-year deal with Real Sociedad

Madrid: Japan midfielder Takefusa Kubo has joined Real Sociedad on a five-year contract.

The 21-year-old has joined Sociedad from Real Madrid after several loan spells, including last season when he played for Spanish side RCD Mallorca.

Dhaka: Bashundhara Kings carved out a hard-fought 2-0 victory over Saif Sporting to lift the Bangladesh Premier League title for the third consecutive time at Bir Shrestha Matiur Rahman Stadium on Monday.

Bashundhara were crowned champions after securing 51 points from 20 matches with 16 wins, three draws and one defeat, 10 points ahead of Abahani Dhaka with two matches remaining.
