Malaysia, Tajikistan through to King's Cup final; Bangladesh defeat Cambodia

Chiangmai: Malaysia will face Tajkistan in the 2022 King's Cup final after both sides overcame stiff challenges in the semi-finals on Thursday.

Malaysia edged hosts Thailand 5-3 on penalties after the tie ended 1-1 while Tajikistan beat Trinidad & Tobago 2-1. 

Bangladesh, meanwhile, registered their first win of 2022 after defeating Cambodia in Phnom Penh.

Qatar 2022 Watch: Mabil goal steers Australia past New Zealand

Brisbane: Awer Mabil struck from distance to earn Australia a 1-0 win over New Zealand in Brisbane on Thursday to stake his claim to a place in the Socceroos’ starting line-up when Graham Arnold’s side feature at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Finals.

Mabil beat Oli Sail from distance in the 32nd minute with the only goal of a game that marked the 100th anniversary of Australia’s first-ever international and was the Socceroos last on home soil before travelling to Qatar in November.
