Indonesia fight back to share spoils; Bhutan settle for stalemate

Amman: Indonesia came from behind to hold Jordan to a 1-1 stalemate in an international women’s friendly at the King Abdullah Stadium on Wednesday.

In Thimphu, Bhutan and Hong Kong, China settled for a goalless stalemate while Kyrgyz Republic fell to their second consecutive defeat against Kazakhstan in Almaty ahead of the AFC Women’s Asian Cup Australia 2026 Qualifiers which kick off late June.

Lee to lead Korea Republic’s rising stars

Kuala Lumpur: Former defender Lee Min-sung has been appointed head coach of the Korea Republic U22 squad, the Korea Football Association (KFA) announced on Tuesday.

Lee will take charge with a key short-term objective of preparing the squad for the AFC U23 Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2026 in January, with the official draw for the Qualifiers set to take place in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday.

Kuala Lumpur: With less than a month to go before the AFC Women’s Asian Cup™ Australia 2026 Qualifiers kick off, teams across the continent are entering the final stretch of preparation.

A busy schedule of international friendlies over the next 10 days will allow teams to fine-tune tactics and build momentum ahead of the qualifying battles set to run from June 23 to July 5.

While 34 teams are vying for spots, only the eight group winners will join defending champions China PR, Korea Republic, Japan and hosts Australia in the Finals, to be staged across three cities on March 1-26, 2026.
