China PR duo confident of bouncing back against Myanmar
Chonburi: Captain Dou Jiaxing and livewire midfielder Han Xuan have no doubt that China PR have what it takes to bounce back from their Matchday One defeat to Korea Republic when they face Myanmar in a crucial Group B encounter on Thursday.
A Kang Ji-woo brace – the first of which came within the game’s opening minute – ultimately proved China’s undoing as they were beaten 2-1 by their regional rivals despite Han Xuan’s superb first-half equaliser.
Korea Republic captain Kang surprised by rapid strike
Chonburi: Korea Republic captain Kang Ji-woo has revealed that she was more than a little surprised when she scored within the first minute of her side’s Matchday One encounter with China PR at the AFC U-19 Women’s Championship Thailand 2019 on Monday.
Kang pounced to hand Hur Jung-jae’s charges an ideal start to the all-East Asian affair, before going on to seal a vital 2-1 victory with a second-half goal after China had initially drawn level through Han Xuan’s 34th minute effort.
Chonburi: Japan striker Yuzuki Yamamoto believes Monday’s 5-0 win over Myanmar has handed her side a major boost as they look to progress to the AFC U-19 Women’s Championship Thailand 2019 knockout phase.
The Nippon TV Menina star scored twice as reigning champions Japan claimed the victory which left them occupying top spot in what promises to be a closely contested Group B.
Chonburi: Vietnam ace Ngan Thi Van Su has revealed that a rousing half-time talk was key to her side’s 2-0 win over Thailand at the AFC U-19 Women’s Championship Thailand 2019 on Sunday.
Despite seeing their opponents dominate much of the first period, Vietnam held the hosts at bay throughout an entertaining opening 45 minutes at a damp Chonburi Stadium.
However, after a spirited dressing-room discussion between both players and head coach Ijiri Akira, Nguyen Thi Tuyet Ngan’s penalty and a late strike from Van Su subsequently saw Vietnam seal a crucial opening day success – a victory which leaves the 2004 quarter-finalists occupying second spot in the Group A standings.
