Mumbai: India sealed a place in the final of the U-17 Women's Football Tournament after defeating Thailand 1-0 in their second pool match at the Mumbai Football Arena on Tuesday.
A stoppage-time goal sent India into the final against Sweden on Thursday, with the European side having won the pool stage tie 3-0.

Sweden scored twice in the first half to record a convincing win against an India side preparing for the 2020 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup on home soil.

Mumbai: Sweden moved into the final of the U17 Women's Football Tournament 2019 with a 3-1 victory against Thailand at the Mumbai Football Arena on Sunday.
The Europeans were quick to seize the initiative after the first blow of the referee's whistle, creating more chances than the Thai side.
Swedish forward Ellika Holmberg was put through on goal in the 25th minute but her shot from a tight angle was put out for a corner by Thailand custodian Pawarisa Homyamyen. However, she could do nothing as Sweden took the lead a minute later from the resulting set-piece.

Mumbai: The Official Emblem for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup India 2020 was unveiled on Saturday at the iconic Gateway of India, in Mumbai.
With one year to go before the start of the tournament, fans from across India and around the world experienced the excitement and optimism as the Official Emblem for the tournament was revealed to the public.
Representatives from the Local Organising Committee, FIFA, and the Indian government spoke about how the power of football – and youth competitions in particular – can promote positive change in society, with a focus on accessibility and gender equality.
The event culminated in a spectacular outdoor light projection to reveal the Official Emblem, which was attended by a host of stars from India and the world of football.

New Delhi: India will host the 10th edition of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup from November 2-21, 2020.
The event, which will be the second FIFA tournament that the country will host in three years, will see a marquee emblem launch ceremony on Saturday as the one-year countdown starts.

Kuala Lumpur: India will host the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup 2020, FIFA announced on Friday.
"We are delighted to announce that India has been confirmed as the host of the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup in 2020," President Gianni Infantino said after the FIFA Council meeting in Miami, USA on Friday,
This will be the second FIFA tournament India will be hosting, after the U-17 Men's World Cup in 2017.
All India Football Federation General Secretary Kushal Das told Indian media: "We are thankful to FIFA for giving the right to host the U-17 Women's World Cup. This will raise the profile of women's football in the country.
"We have been giving a lot of emphasis on the development of women's football in the country. So we bid for the U-17 Women's World Cup and now we have got it."
