Moscow: Six-time Russian champions CSKA Moscow boosted their line-up ahead of the start of the Champions League group stage by signing Japanese striker Takuma Nishimura on a four-year deal, the club reported on Friday.
"Welcome Takuma," said a statement on the Red Army club's official site.
No financial details of the deal were disclosed.
The 21-year-old forward, who spent three years with Vegalta Sendai in the J-league, has scored 11 goals in 24 matches this season.
CSKA, who have been teamed with European champions Real Madrid, Serie A giants AS Roma and Czech side Viktoria Plzen in the Champions League Group G, start their campaign away to Plzen on September 19.

Reading: Reading Football Club have announced that 21-year-old Islamic Republic of Iran international Saeid Ezatolahi is set to make a season-long loan switch to join the Royals’ ranks from FC Rostov – becoming the eighth senior signing of the summer.
The talented midfielder, who started in Iran’s Group B matches against Spain and Portugal in the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia, has opted to swap the Russian Premier League for the challenge of the Championship.
Manager Paul Clement said, “I’m very happy we have been able to sign Saeid on loan within 24 hours of this transfer window closing. Saeid is a strong, powerful central midfield player with good technical ability.
"He has experience playing at the highest level with both the Iranian national team and domestically with his current side FC Rostov and in time spent in Spain with Atlético Madrid. Now, I’m really looking forward to getting to work with him on the training pitch.”

Melbourne: Melbourne Victory have announced signing star Swedish striker Ola Toivonen on a two-year contract.
An accomplished striker at both club and international level, Toivonen has proven himself on the biggest stage, scoring for Sweden against Germany at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
He enjoyed a number of seasons at Dutch giant PSV Eindhoven before making the move to France with Ligue 1 sides Rennes and Toulouse.
Toivonen also spent a season in the English Premier League with Sunderland in 2015.
In what is a major coup for Melbourne Victory, Head Coach Kevin Muscat was delighted to have secured yet another quality international player to compliment the recent signings of Keisuke Honda and Georg Niedermeier.

Strasbourg: Japanese international goalkeeper Eiji Kawashima has signed a one-year deal with French top flight side Racing Strasbourg, the club have announced.
Kawashima, 35, has had spells in Belgium with Lierse and Standard Liege as well as Dundee United in Scotland.
He also spent two seasons in France with Metz, Strasbourg's northern neighbours, but they were relegated last term.
