FC Seoul, who as Anyang Cheetahs were runners-up to Suwon Samsung Bluewings in the 2001/02 Asian Club Championship, are now eligible to take part and next year's AFC Champions League and head coach Choi Yong-soo spoke of his desire to maintain Korea's dominance in Asia's premier club competition.
"I was very proud of Ulsan's victory in this year's ACL as they are a fellow K-League side and their win has motivated me and our players," Choi told Korean media following their title-sealing victory over Jeju.
"Our goal for next year is to become the top team in Asia although we know this will not be an easy challenge."
