Bandung: Tottenham Hotspur forward Son Heung-min is looking forward to spearheading Korea Republic's defence of the Asian Games gold medal.
Son, who arrived in Bandung on Monday to join the Korea Republic U-23 squad, said he will use the coming days to familiarise with his teammates.
"I have to get friendly with other younger teammates," he said. "I'll approach them first and will give them some advice. It's my job to help my teammates to play their best game."

Bekasi: Indonesia opened their 2018 Asian Games Group A campaign with an emphatic 4-0 win over Chinese Taipei, while Palestine came from a goal down to beat Laos 2-1 on Sunday.

Indonesia had a frustrating first half as Evan Dimas Darmono, Zulfiandi and Netherlands-born veteran Stefano Lilipaly came close in the first half but Chinese Taipei's backline and custodian Pan Wenchieh were resilient.
The back-and-forth encounter continued well into the second half, with Chinese Taipei fending off Indonesia's attacks.

Bekasi: Hong Kong opened their 2018 Asian Games Group A campaign with a 3-1 win over Laos, while Palestine and Chinese Taipei played to a goalless draw on Friday.

Laos made the first attempt of the game, with Phouthone Innalay missing the target in the third minute, but it was Hong Kong whi opened the scoring with Cheng Chin Lung finding the back of the net in the 20th minute.
In the 40th minute, Hong Kong's Tan Chun Lok doubled their tally to go into the break with a 2-0 lead.

Kuala Lumpur: The United Arab Emirates have taken Iraq's place in Group C of the 2018 Asian Games Indonesia men's football tournament.
A re-draw was conducted by the Asian Football Confederation on Friday on behalf of the Olympic Council of Asia and Local Organising Committee following Iraq's withdrawal from the tournament.
UAE are now grouped alongside China PR, Timor-Leste and Syria in Group C, reducing Group E to four teams - Korea Republic, Kyrgyz Republic, Malaysia and Bahrain.
The men's football tournament is set to take place on August 10 to September 1 in Jakarta and Palembang.

Paju: Korea Republic may not have advanced to the knockout stage of the recent 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia but there is no denying that goalkeeper Cho Hyun-woo was one of the stars of the global showpiece.
Cho, despite only having six caps to his name previously, was favoured ahead of veteran Kim Seung-gyu at the start and never lost the job and capped his campaign by earning the Man of the Match award in Korea Republic's fabulous 2-0 win over 2014 champions Germany in their final Group F match.
Up next for Cho is the 2018 Asian Games Indonesia, where the Daegu FC goalkeeper is one of three overaged players head coach Kim Hak-bum has selected for the Under-23 tournament.
Tottenham Hotspur attacked Son Heung-min will also be central to Korea Republic's defence of the Asian Games gold medal they won on home soil in 2014.
"I've already put the World Cup out of my mind," said Cho. "I am confident I can play even better (in the Asian Games) than I did at the World Cup. I learned a great deal facing European opponents at the World Cup. I am determined to bring home the gold medal."

Bali: Indonesia U-23 head coach Luis Milla has set his sights on the semi-finals of the Asian Games Indonesia 2018.
The hosts of the 18th edition of the Asian Games have been preparing since January with several training camps and friendlies, including the 2018 PSSI Anniversary Cup where the Young Garuda finished third after losing 1-0 to Bahrain and settling for draws with DPR Korea and Uzbekistan.
Indonesia have also played Thailand and Korea Republic, losing both games, which came on the back of a 3-0 win over Singapore in March.
Indonesia’s best result in the Asian Games was reaching the Round of 16 in the 2014 edition in Korea Republic, but Milla believes that with solid preparation, the Young Garuda can makes the semi-finals on home soil.

Jakarta: 2018 Asian Games hosts Indonesia were drawn with 2014 bronze medallists Korea Republic, Chinese Taipei and Maldives in Group A, following the women's football draw on Thursday.
The 11-team competition will see 2014 champions DPR Korea in Group B with China, Hong Kong and Tajikistan while Group C has 2014 silver medallists Japan, Vietnam and Thailand.
The top two teams from each group, together with the two best third-placed teams, will advance to the quarter-finals.
The 2018 Asian Games women's football competition will be held on August 16 to 31.
