Abu Dhabi: Twenty-four coaches are taking part in an ongoing AFC ‘C’ Football Coaching Certificate Course which will run until October 24 in Abu Dhabi.
The participants are youth coaches from clubs based in Abu Dhabi such as Al Ain, Al Jazira, Baniyas, Al Wahda and Al Dhafra.
The course’s opening session was attended by Talal Al Hashemi, Director of Technical Affairs of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council and AFC Coaching Instructor Abdulla Hassan, the instructor for the course.
At the beginning of the session, Al Hashimi welcomed the participants, stressing that the Abu Dhabi Sports Council is keen to support the coaching staff of Abu Dhabi clubs, enrich them with international and continental experiences and enlighten them on the latest developments in the field of coaching.
He called upon all participants to take advantage of the courses held on an ongoing basis in Abu Dhabi.
In addition, AFC ‘A’ and ‘B’ Coaching Certificate Courses are also available to the participants after finishing the ‘C’ course and fulfilling other requirements.
It is hoped that the coaching courses will further contribute to the growth and development of football in Abu Dhabi.
Al Hashimi praised the efforts made by the UAE Football Association and expressed the wish that all participants would benefit greatly from the course.
AFC Coaching Instructor Hassan affirmed that the continuation of the current course will form a broad base of qualified coaches, reiterating that the course will teach the basics of coaching, which include both practical and theoretical skills.
He said the course will also explain the rules of coaching and how to deal with young players of various age groups.
A participant, former player Abdulsalam Jumaa, praised the course and its impact on the coaches, and thanked all parties concerned for their continued support, stressing that such a course is important as it provides opportunities for retired players to engage in the field of coaching.
He said the course will leave an indelible mark on the coaches, and would enable them to employ their knowledge and experience in order to further enhance their own coaching methods.
