Thimphu: A goal in each half earned Al Ansar FC a 2-0 win over Al Ittihad Ahli of Aleppo SC in their AFC Challenge League 2026/27™ Group A opener at the Changlimithang Stadium on Saturday.

Khalil Bader and Nader Matar struck to give the Lebanese side all three points ahead of their Matchday Two meeting with Paro FC of Bhutan, while Aleppo will look to bounce back when they face Turkmenistan’s Ahal FC.

Hisor: Homs Al Fidaa SC got their AFC Challenge League 2026/27™ Group B campaign off to a great start after edging Al Arabi SC 1-0 on Saturday.

Francisco Politino’s first half goal proved to be the decider with the Syrian side looking to build on this win against Lebanon’s Nejmeh SC on Tuesday while Al Arabi of Kuwait will seek to rebound against Tajikistan’s FC Istiklol.

Kuala Lumpur: Korea Republic U23 winger Yang Min-hyeok and Japan internationals Daichi Kamada and Keisuke Goto struck their first goals of the season right after the international break - Yang in the Belgian Pro League, Kamada in the English Premier League and Goto in the Bundesliga.

Qualifiers - Group E: Syria 1-0 Iraq; India 4-0 Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur: India flexed their muscles to book their spot in the AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup China 2027™ with a 4-0 win over Malaysia in their Qualifiers Group E clash on Sunday.

Joakim Alexandersson’s side finished their three-match qualifying round with a perfect run while Malaysia, who saw their hopes of a maiden Finals dashed, settled for second.

Syria had earlier edged Iraq 1-0 to end their campaign with their first win.

Qualifiers - Group E: Syria 0-2 India; Iraq 0-4 Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur: India and Malaysia will clash for a place in the AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup China 2027™ after both sides won their respective Group E Qualifiers matches on Thursday.

India beat Syria 2-0 while Malaysia cruised past Iraq 4-0, with their concluding tie on Sunday earning the winners a place at the 11th edition of the Finals.

Tashkent: Uzbekistan defeated Syria 3-0 to close with a perfect three-match run in Group B of the the AFC U20 Asian Cup China 2027™ Qualifiers on Sunday.

The 2023 champions will play in their third successive Finals after finishing three points clear of India, who beat Bangladesh 3-0 in the earlier fixture and are poised to make their first appearance since 2006.
