AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023™ competition dates and venues confirmed

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and the Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023™ have confirmed that the upcoming edition of Asia’s flagship national team competition will be held from January 12 to February 10, 2024.  

Asia’s top 24 nations will compete for the most prestigious prize in Asian football and, as part of efforts to engage with more fans than ever before, the 18th edition of the tournament will maximise the advantage of playing the opening game on a Friday and the final on a weekend.

Qualifiers Group G: Kyrgyz Republic 0-5 India

Bishkek: India were at their best as they opened their Women’s Olympic Football Tournament Paris 2024™ Asian Qualifiers Round 1 Group G campaign with a 5-0 win over Kyrgyz Republic on Tuesday.

The win at the Dolen Omurzakov Stadium in Bishkek places India in a comfortable position to advance to the second round of the Qualifiers, with the sides to meet again on Friday in the two-team group.

Chonburi: Mongolia scored deep into added time to hold Singapore 2-2 in Group D of the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament Paris 2024™ Asian Qualifiers Round 1 on Tuesday.

The stalemate means Singapore, having lost 6-0 to Thailand in their opener, are eliminated while Mongolia will advance with a win over the Thais on Friday.

Maurice Revello test for four Asian hopefuls ahead of Qualifiers

Kuala Lumpur: Australia, Japan, Qatar and Saudi Arabia will compete in the Maurice Revello Tournament as part of their preparations for the AFC U23 Asian Cup™ Qatar 2024 Qualifiers.

Formerly known as the Toulon Tournament, the competition is scheduled for June 5-18 in Aix-en-Provence, France.
 
Besides the four Asian sides, Bolivia, Costa Rica, France, Ivory Coast, Mexico, Panama, Togo and Venezuela will be the other teams in the fray.
