Kuala Lumpur: PSM Makassar sealed the Liga 1 title in Indonesia with two games to spare when they defeated Madura United 3-1 on Friday to claim their first league title in 23 years and complete an impressive turnaround after finishing just two points clear of the relegation zone last season. 

In Malaysia, defending champions Johor Darul Ta’zim overcame previously undefeated Sabah 4-0 on Friday to make it six wins from their opening six games and also extend their unbeaten streak to an incredible 40 matches – a Malaysia Super League record.

Chonburi: Thailand kicked off their Women’s Olympic Football Tournament Paris 2024 Asian Qualifiers Round 1 campaign with a 6-0 win over Singapore on Saturday.

The Thais were simply unstoppable at the Chonburi Stadium, taking a 2-0 lead into the break before turning on the power to complete the emphatic win.

Bell extends Korea Republic contract

Seoul: Colin Bell's contract as head coach of the Korea Republic women's national team has been extended till December 2024.

The Englishman's current deal was set to expire after the FIFA Women's World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023.
 
Under the new contract, Bell will also serve as an adviser for the various women's national teams and will hold regular meetings with youth national team coaches, the Korea Football Association said in a statement.
