Jakarta:  Indonesia staved off a strong Iraq fightback to top Group A of the AFC Futsal Asian Cup Indonesia 2026™ following a 1-1 draw on Saturday.

The result set up enticing quarter-final ties with Indonesia to face Vietnam while Iraq will take on Thailand, with both matches to be played on Tuesday.

Jakarta: Uzbekistan will need to go full throttle against Japan in their AFC Futsal Asian Cup Indonesia 2026™ Group C clash if they are to confirm their place in the knockout stage.

While Japan qualified with a match to spare after beating Tajikistan 3-0, Nodir Elibaev’s men - who are on four points after defeating Australia 4-2, cannot afford to lose on Sunday.

Waiting in the wings are their Central Asian neighbours Tajikistan, who have a chance of taking the remaining spot if they beat Australia and Uzbekistan fall to the four-time champions.
