Chonburi: Australia and Saudi Arabia, who qualified for the AFC U17 Asian Cup™ Thailand 2023 by scoring a combined 59 goals in the Qualifiers, will kick off the Group C proceedings at the Chonburi Uta Stadium on Friday.
Two-time champions of the AFC U-16 Championship, Saudi Arabia scored 19 goals and conceded two in their four qualifying matches. Three-time semi-finalists Australia, on the other hand, hit home a whopping 36 goals and conceded only one in three matches to emerge the top scorers of the Qualifiers.
Chonburi: Tajikistan and China PR will chart untested waters when they meet in their opening AFC U17 Asian Cup™ Thailand 2023 Group C match on Friday.
Both teams have never met in the tournament despite China PR making their 15th appearance and Tajikistan their fourth.
Their head coaches, however, have analysed their respective opponents’ game and are looking forward to the match at the Chonburi Uta Stadium in what both agree is one of the toughest groups in the competition.
