Kuala Lumpur: The cast for the AFC U20 Asian Cup China 2027™ was finalised following the completion of the Qualifiers on Sunday.

The eight group winners and seven best second-placed teams join China PR for the 43rd edition of the tournament next year.

Kuala Lumpur: The AFC U20 Asian Cup China 2027™ cast was finalised following the completion of the Qualifiers on Sunday.

The eight group winners - Korea Republic (Group A), Uzbekistan (Group B), DPR Korea (Group C), Tajikistan (Group D), Saudi Arabia (Group E), Iraq (Group F), Japan (Group G) and Indonesia (Group H) joined hosts China PR at next year's Finals.

 

The seven best second-placed sides will also book their spots in the Finals.

 

In the Development Phase, Mongolia defeated Guam 3-0 to top Group I with both teams promoted to the next edition’s Qualification Phase.

 

Group J saw Chinese Taipei and Singapore booking their promotion places with their meeting on Sunday ending 2-0 in favour of the East Asian side.

 

Myanmar and Maldives had secured their places in the 2029 Qualification Phase with a match to spare in Group K with the former defeating the latter 6-0 to cap a perfect campaign.

Kuala Lumpur: The journey towards the AFC U20 Asian Cup China 2027™ continues on Thursday with Matchday Two of the Qualifiers.

The Qualifiers offer 15 berths at next year’s Finals and sees the maiden implementation of a two-tiered format.

The Qualification Phase divides 31 teams across eight groups, with all group winners and the seven best second-placed teams advancing to join hosts China PR at the 43rd edition of the AFC U20 Asian Cup™. Meanwhile, the six lowest-ranked fourth-placed teams will be relegated to the Development Phase of the next Qualifiers.

Concurrently, the Development Phase features 11 teams that are split into three groups, with the first and second-placed teams of each group to be promoted to the Qualification Phase of the next Qualifiers.

At stake are 15 berths at next year’s Finals, with the eight group winners and the seven best second-placed teams advancing to join hosts China PR at the 43rd edition of the AFC U20 Asian Cup™. Meanwhile, the six lowest-ranked fourth-placed teams will be relegated to the Development Phase of the next Qualifiers.

Concurrently, the Development Phase features 11 teams that are split into three groups, with the first and second-placed teams of each group to be promoted to the Qualification Phase of the next Qualifiers.
