Qualifiers - Group G: Japan 4-0 Yemen; Cambodia 0-5 Kuwait

Phnom Penh: Japan put on another masterful display to beat Yemen 4-0 in Group G of the AFC U20 Asian Cup China 2027™ Qualifiers on Sunday and book their place in next year’s Finals.

The 2016 champions closed their campaign with a maximum nine points, netting 16 goals and conceding none while in the later match, Kuwait breezed past Cambodia 5-0 to chalk up their first three points and finish in second ahead of Yemen and the Southeast Asian side on goal difference.

#AFCU20 China 2027 Qualifiers: MD3 Results & Reports

Kuala Lumpur: The AFC U20 Asian Cup China 2027™ cast was finalised following the completion of the Qualifiers on Sunday.

The eight group winners - Korea Republic (Group A), Uzbekistan (Group B), DPR Korea (Group C), Tajikistan (Group D), Saudi Arabia (Group E), Iraq (Group F), Japan (Group G) and Indonesia (Group H) joined hosts China PR at next year's Finals.

 

The seven best second-placed sides will also book their spots in the Finals.

 

In the Development Phase, Mongolia defeated Guam 3-0 to top Group I with both teams promoted to the next edition’s Qualification Phase.

 

Group J saw Chinese Taipei and Singapore booking their promotion places with their meeting on Sunday ending 2-0 in favour of the East Asian side.

 

Myanmar and Maldives had secured their places in the 2029 Qualification Phase with a match to spare in Group K with the former defeating the latter 6-0 to cap a perfect campaign.

Vientiane: Indonesia earned a hard-fought 2-0 win against defending champions Australia to book their AFC U20 Asian Cup China 2027™ spot on Sunday.

The win put Indonesia on seven points in Group H to seal automatic qualification, achieving their third consecutive appearance in the Finals.

Malaysia finished second in the group on five points after defeating Laos 2-1 but will have to wait for the remaining groups to know their fate.

Viet Tri: Three goals in six second half minutes ensured DPR Korea sealed a 4-0 win over Palestine on Sunday as O Thae Song’s side finished top of Group C of the AFC U20 Asian Cup China 2027™ Qualifiers with a perfect record while the Islamic Republic of Iran took second after handing Vietnam a 3-1 defeat.

Goals from Kim Yu Jin, An Jin Sok and Pak Kwang Song in the 50th, 54th and 56th minutes put their team in control with Ko Myong Ryong completing the scoring in the final minute as DPR Korea secured their third win in a row.

DPR Korea finished with a maximum nine points while the Iranians slotted into second three points behind. Palestine took third with Vietnam rooted to the bottom without a point.

Chonburi: Moamel Malik struck twice as Iraq handed Thailand a 3-1 defeat on Sunday to claim top spot in Group F of the AFC U20 Asian Cup China 2027™ Qualifiers as both nations confirmed their progress to the Finals after the United Arab Emirates secured a 3-2 win over Turkmenistan.

Malik scored in the 10th and 45th minutes with Aws Ghazi Al Talebi also netting after 19 minutes as the Iraqis claimed their second win to finish ahead of the Thais on head-to-head record. The UAE finished third with Turkmenistan fourth.

Ulaanbaatar: Mongolia sealed top spot in Group I of the AFC U20 Asian Cup China 2027™ Qualifiers as a 3-0 win over Guam on Sunday saw Marco Ragini’s side notch up a second consecutive victory at the MFF Stadium in Ulaanbaatar.

Goals from Erdenebaatar Nyamdorj, Jason Mendjargal and Khabul Baatar secured the points for the home side, who had opened their campaign with a 7-0 win over the Northern Mariana Islands.
