Qualifiers - Group I: Tajikistan revive hopes; Singapore, Cambodia share spoils

Dushanbe: Tajikistan defeated Lebanon 4-0 to bounce back into contention in Group I of the AFC U20 Asian Cup™ Uzbekistan 2023 Qualifiers, while Singapore and Cambodia settled for a 1-1 draw on Friday. 

Two goals in either half saw Lebanon secure their first win to overtake Lebanon for top spot. 

Meanwhile, the day’s earlier match between Singapore and Cambodia wasn’t the result either side had hoped for with Singapore now on two points, while Cambodia earned their first after having lost their opener to Lebanon.

Qualifiers: MD4 Results & Reports

Kuala Lumpur: Friday's action in the AFC U20 Asian Cup™ Uzbekistan 2023 concluded with every thing still to play for when the action resumes in the nine groups on Sunday.

Although several teams are comfortably placed following Friday's action, they still have some work to do to confirm their places alongside hosts Uzbekistan in the Finals.

The 10 group winners and five best second-placed teams will advance with Group H to be played in October.

The result sees Japan sitting comfortably in first place with nine points, with Yemen trailing by two points.

Qualifiers - Group F: Vietnam too strong for Timor-Leste; Indonesia overwhelm Hong Kong

Surabaya: Vietnam defeated Timor-Leste 4-0, while Indonesia cruised to a 5-1 win over Hong Kong in Group F of the AFC U20 Asian Cup™ Uzbekistan 2023 Qualifiers at the Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium on Friday.

Vietnam and Indonesia are on six points and are set for a collision course on Sunday, with only the top team from the group assured of a place in Uzbekistan 2023.

Nepal dethrone India, Bangladesh breeze into final

Kathmandu: Nepal shocked India 1-0 to set up a SAFF Women's Championship 2022 final with Bangladesh on Friday.

Bangladesh booked their place in the decider with a 8-0 win over Bhutan, with new champions to be crowned in Monday's final, with India having won all previous five editions.

India defeat Nepal to lift title

Colombo: India clinched the SAFF U-17 Championship 2022 title after defeating  10-man Nepal 4-0 in the final at the Racecourse International Stadium, in Colombo, Sri Lanka on Wednesday.

Victory meant India retained the title, which was previously known as the SAFF U-15 Championship.
