White Wolves determined to create history

Tashkent: Head coach Timur Kapadze was beaming from ear to ear after Uzbekistan defeated Japan 2-0 to set up a date with Saudi Arabia in the final of the AFC U23 Asian Cup™ Uzbekistan 2022. 

Uzbekistan were worthy winners as goals by Jasurbek Jaloliddinov and Husain Norchaev at the Bunyodkor Stadium on Wednesday took them within one match of becoming the first team to win the AFC U23 Asian Cup title for a second time.

Tashkent: Uzbekistan's thorough analysis of Japan led to their AFC U23 Asian Cup™ Uzbekistan 2022 semi-final victory on Wednesday, said head coach Timur Kapadze.

After a tight first half at the Bunyodkor Stadium, the hosts turned on the power and were rewarded with goals by Jasurbek Jaloliddin and Husain Norchaev to advance to their second AFC U23 Asian Cup final, having lifted the title in 2018.

Tashkent: Trevor Morgan was left to rue a missed opportunity after Australia fell to a 2-0 defeat against Saudi Arabia in the AFC U23 Asian Cup™ Uzbekistan 2022 semi-finals on Wednesday.

The Olyroos went into the last four tie at the Pakhtakor Stadium aiming to make the final for the first time but had to concede defeat to Saudi Arabia, who scored through Hussain Al Eisa and Ayman Yahya to seal a second successive appearance in the decider.

Making things worse for Australia was Jay Rich-Baghuelo’s sending off in the 39th minute, with Saudi Arabia leading 1-0 at that stage.

Tashkent: Head coach Al Shehri believes Saudi Arabia have found the key for success following their 2-0 win over Australia in the semi-finals of the AFC U23 Asian Cup™ Uzbekistan 2022 on Wednesday.

Goals from Hussain Al Eisa and Ayman Yahya took Saudi Arabia within touching distance of winning the AFC U23 Asian Cup crown for the first time.

Impressively, Saudi Arabia won all their matches en route to reaching the final without conceding a goal and Al Shehri revealed that their success is due to their ability to adapt to different situations in matches.

Tashkent: A dejected Go Oiwa did not hesitate to admit that his plans went wrong as Japan crashed in the semi-finals of the AFC U23 Asian Cup™ Uzbekistan 2022 on Wednesday. 

The Japanese head coach did not mince his words after the 2-0 defeat to Uzbekistan, saying his team had come to Uzbekistan 2022 to win the title and not for exposure ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympics.
