Nascimento demands more from Jordan; Jafari hails Iran

Amman: Jordan maintained their perfect record in Group A of the AFC Women’s Asian Cup Australia 2026™ Qualifiers with a commanding 5-0 victory over Singapore on Sunday but head coach David Nascimento made it clear that there is still room for improvement.

Despite collecting maximum points from their opening two matches, Nascimento was left frustrated by his team’s execution in the final third.

Amman: Jordan stayed on track for a place in the AFC Women’s Asian Cup Australia 2026™ with a 5-0 win over Singapore in Group A of the Qualifiers on Sunday.

The win moved Jordan level on six points with Islamic Republic of Iran and Bhutan, whose tie earlier on Sunday ended 7-1 in favour of the Central Asian side.

Jordan will aim to keep their winning run going when they play Bhutan on Wednesday with Singapore, who suffered their third straight defeat, will conclude their campaign against Lebanon on Saturday.
