Qualifiers - Group B: Iraq 5-2 Mongolia

Chiang Mai: Iraq turned on the power to defeat Mongolia 5-2 in their AFC Women’s Asian Cup Australia 2026™ Qualifiers Group B match on Thursday.

With four points in the bag, the win sets Iraq up nicely for a crunch match against Thailand on Sunday with Mongolia only in action again on Wednesday when they face the group hosts.

Chiang Mai: Pyari Xaxa believes India’s free-scoring 13-0 win against Mongolia is just what her team needed to fuel their AFC Women’s Asian Cup Australia 2026™ Qualifiers Group B campaign.

Xaxa netted twice in the first before adding three more after the break, while Priyadharshini Selladurai and Soumya Guguloth also bagged braces with Rimpa Haldar, Sangita Basfore, Dangmei Grace and Malavika Prasad adding to the tally.

#ACFutsal Qualifiers draw finalised

Kuala Lumpur: The 31 teams aiming to appear in the AFC Futsal Asian Cup™ Indonesia 2026 learnt their opponents following the Qualifiers draw at the AFC House in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Thursday.

The teams were divided into seven groups of four and one group of three with the Qualifiers to be played on September 20-24, 2025.

The eight group winners and the seven best-ranked runners-up from the Qualifiers will join hosts Indonesia at the 18th edition of the Finals, which is scheduled to commence next January.
