Chu spurs Chinese Taipei with safe hands

Hohhot: Whenever the Chinese Taipei women’s futsal national team take to the court, they do so knowing that they are in good hands.

Since taking up the sport at the start of 2024, Chu Fang-Yi has established herself as a reliable presence in goal and her abilities were on full display again on Tuesday as Chinese Taipei opened their AFC Women’s Futsal Asian Cup™ China 2025 campaign with a 6-1 win against Uzbekistan.

Chu pulled off several stunning stops to ensure that their opponents could not find a way back into the game at the Hohhot Sports Centre and was proud of her side’s performance.

Group A: Uzbekistan 1-6 Chinese Taipei

Hohhot: Chinese Taipei produced a convincing display on Tuesday to defeat Uzbekistan 6-1 in their opening match at the AFC Women’s Futsal Asian Cup™ China 2025.

Despite going a goal down at the Hohhot Sports Centre, Chinese Taipei hit back strongly to take home all three points ahead of their next match against China PR on Thursday, with Uzbekistan to face Australia.

Hohhot: China PR secured a 3-1 win over a battling Australia in their opening AFC Women Futsal Asian Cup™ China 2025 Group A tie on Tuesday.

The win sets up China PR nicely for their meeting with Chinese Taipei, while Australia will be aiming to bounce back against Uzbekistan.
