Jeddah: Roberto Firmino was grinning from ear-to-ear after his man of the match performance helped Al Ahli Saudi FC win the AFC Champions League Elite™ 2024/25 title on Saturday.

It was the famous club’s first continental title and the Brazilian was ecstatic to have played his part in adding a new chapter to the club’s glorious history.

Jeddah: Head coach Shigetoshi Hasebe conceded that Kawasaki Frontale side were upstaged by a better Al Ahli Saudi FC in the final of the AFC Champions League Elite™ 2024/25 on Saturday.

Hasebe admitted that his Japanese side were not able to show the quality they had displayed in their previous two AFC Champions League Elite™ Finals Jeddah 2025 matches - having convincingly beaten Qatar’s Al Sadd SC and Al Nassr Club of Saudi Arabia.

Jeddah:  Roberto Firmino was named as the Most Valuable Player of the AFC Champions League Elite™ 2024/25 after helping Al Ahli Saudi FC to the title on Saturday.

Firmino had an influential role in the final, setting up both goals as the Saudi Arabian side defeated Japan’s Kawasaki Frontale 2-0 in the final of the AFC Champions League Elite™ Finals Jeddah 2025 to lift their first Asian title.

Al Dawsari amassed 10 goals in the campaign with his Al Hilal SFC side exiting the competition at the semi-final stage following a 3-1 defeat to Saudi Pro League rivals and eventual champions Al Ahli Saudi FC.
